BUILT Network in North Bay Minimize

A message from the National Network for Mental Health

The BUILT Network program which was started in North Bay under the leadership of Dave Gallson and the National Network for Mental Health (NNMH) has become a national success story. BUILT has serviced more than 1200 people and helped 750 return to work and nearly 100 to return to school. This proven model is now being used in affiliate centres where the BUILT Network Program is operated by partner agencies. For over five years now the NNMH has provided services in the District of Nipissing through the BUILT Network program. In the community we have served nearly 450 participants and assisted literally hundreds to return to work through enrolling in our Customer Service Representative Skills Development Program and Computer Fundamentals Program. The North Bay community’s’ continued support and referrals to this program has assisted us in our successes which includes having established seven sites across Canada as well as a national bilingual on-line learning program. In June of 2007 the BUILT Network program  was officially recognized nationally when we were awarded the prestigious award for Excellence in Learning from The Canadian Council on Learning.

The National Network for Mental Health and their Board of Directors wish to assure the community that their first priority is to make this transition as seamless as possible. It is also our intention to continue providing services within the area, and indeed increase services to outlying communities, as we strongly believe that the BUILT Network program is unique and provides proven results and outcomes for participants.

We would like to advise the residents of the city of North Bay and all surrounding communities within the District of Nipissing that the BUILT Network program will continue to be offered in North Bay by the National Network for Mental Health through its office located at 591 Main St. East Suite 104 location. As of December 1st, 2008 the community will have immediate access to the Customer Service Representative Skills Development Program and Computer Fundamentals program through our Online delivery program through the head office of BUILT Network located in downtown North Bay. Participants entering to this program will be able to access this from any computer in any location. This means that persons who live in surrounding areas can now access the program from their respective communities, homes and community access points (CAPS).

As the BUILT Network program is of such community value, and provides program participants with the direct support model which has been proven to be exactly the tools they have used to return to successful employment, with your support, we will also be working with the community in establishing a new BUILT Network site which will re-establish an onsite delivery of the program in the community shortly.
